How to Configure Your OpenXchange Email Account On IPad
1. Tap Settings on your iPad home screen. If you have installed additional apps from Apple’s App Store, this button may be located on a different home screen than the one pictured. By default, it is on your main home screen.

2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

3. If you have already configured an email account on your iPad, you will need to tap Add Account. If you have not yet configured any email accounts on your iPad, skip to the next step.

4. Tap Other at the bottom of the list.

5. Tap Add Mail Account.

6. Enter in the information requested.
Name – Enter your name as you want it to appear on outgoing messages.
Address – Enter your full email address.
Password – Enter your email password.
Description – Enter a title to identify this account on your phone.
When you’ve entered all the appropriate information, tap Save.

7. Choose either IMAP or POP. Choosing IMAP (Recommended) will keep messages in sync between your iPad and your other devices. Choosing POP will provide you with slightly faster download times, but your messages will not be synchronised with your other devices.

8. Configure the Incoming Mail Server settings: 

For IMAP Configuration (Recommended Configuration):
Incoming Mail Server: 
Host Name: imap-your-domain-name (eg: imap.getsetlive.net)
User Name – Enter your full email address. (e.g. demo@getsetlive.net)
Password – Enter your email password.

For POP Configuration:

In order to send and receive email using Mozilla Thunderbird, you need to setup your account as described below –

1. Start Thunderbird, go to the File menu and click New -> Account

2. In the Account Wizard dialog box, select Email account and then click Next

3. Enter your name as you would like it to appear for any mail that you send, and your complete email address (user@somedomainname.com)

4. Select the type of incoming server you are using as either POP / IMAP.

5. Incoming & Outgoing mail server: You can obtain this information from your Email Dashboard. In Dashboard go to Mail > DNS Configuration and POP/IMAP/SMTP records. Or if you are using our DNS service for your domain then you can use:

Account Type: POP

Incoming Mail Server: pop.your-domain-name (eg: pop.getsetlive.net)

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.your-domain-name (eg: smtp.getsetlive.net)

Account Type: IMAP

How to Configure Your OpenXchange Email Account In Windows Mail
 To configure your email account in Windows Mail, follow the steps described below –
1. Start Windows Mail. On the Tools menu, click Accounts…

2. In the Accounts window, click Add…

3. Select the Account Type as E-mail Account and click Next.

4. Enter your complete email address of the type user@somedomainname.com, your Password and Display Name as the name you want others to see when you send them a message.

5. Select the check box adjacent to Manually configure server settings for e-mail account and then click Next.

6. Select an incoming mail server as either POP3 / IMAP.
Incoming & Outgoing mail server:

 You can obtain this information from your Email Dashboard. In Dashboard go to Mail > DNS Configuration and POP/IMAP/SMTP records. Or if you are using our DNS service for your domain then you can use:

For POP configuration:

How to Configure Your OpenXchange Email Address To Your Email Client & Microsoft Outlook
1. Click on the Tools tab, and then click on the Account Settings button

2. Click on New to add your Hover email address.  

3. Select IMAP and click Next.

4. Check the box for “Manually configure server settings or additional server types” & then click Next.

5. Put the bullet next to “Internet E-mail” then click Next.

6. Type in Your Name/E-mail Address, Incoming/Outgoing mail servers, User Name/Password& then click More Settings.

** Please note that the Domain Name used for the configuration here is ‘getsetlive.net’

 

For POP configuration:

Incoming Mail Server: pop.your-domain-name (eg: pop.getsetlive.net)

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.your-domain-name (eg: smtp.getsetlive.net)

For IMAP configuration:

Account Type: IMAP

Incoming Mail Server: imap.your-domain-name (eg: imap.getsetlive.net)

Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.your-domain-name (eg: smtp.getsetlive.net)

7. On the Outgoing Server tab put a check mark next to “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” & then put the bullet next to “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”.

8. On the Advanced tab change the Outgoing server (SMTP) port to 587, change the encrypted connection to None & then click OK. Tick on Leave a copy of messages on server as per your preference.

For POP configuration:

Incoming (POP) Server Port Number: 110

Outgoing (SMTP) Server Port Number: 587

For IMAP configuration:

Incoming (IMAP) Server Port Number: 143

1. Open your Apple Mail client and Choose Add Other Email Account.

2. Fill in the ‘Welcome to Mail’ window with the following information:

Full Name:  
Email Address: your full email address
Password: your Email password
Important: Hold the option button down until ‘Create’ turns into ‘Continue’
Click Continue

3. Fill in the following Incoming Mail Server information:

Incoming mail server: You can obtain this information from your Email Dashboard. In Dashboard go to Mail > DNS Configuration and POP/IMAP/SMTP records.

If you are using our DNS service then you can directly use for POP server pop.your-domain-name (eg: pop.getsetlive.net) and for IMAP imap.your-domain-name (eg: imap.getsetlive.net)

4. Incoming Mail Security:

Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL): Do not select
Authentication: Password
Important: Hold the option button down until ‘Create’ turns into ‘Continue’.
 Click Continue

5. Enter the following Outgoing Mail Server information:

Outgoing mail server: You can obtain this information from your Email Dashboard. In Dashboard go to Mail > DNS Configuration and POP/IMAP/SMTP records.

If you are using our DNS service then you can directly use smtp.your-domain-name (eg: smtp.getsetlive.net)

Click Continue.

6. Outgoing Mail Security:

7. The email service supports both IMAP and POP. In this tutorial I am going to select IMAP. You can select either IMAP or POP. The settings that follow are the same for both.

We recommend IMAP because it will keep messages in sync between your iPhone and any other computers or devices that you also use with IMAP to access your email account.

8. Scroll down after selecting IMAP or POP.

Under the Incoming IMAP Mail Server section, enter the following settings.

Reading and managing mails
When you first login, your inbox is automatically displayed. To view an email, simply click on the subject. The selected email will be highlighted and the entire message will get loaded on a new screen. Bold messages are new or unread. Messages you have already looked at will be in un-bolded text. To view a different folder, just click on the name of the folder you want to view. The options for each folder work the same as your inbox. Let’s go through what each of the buttons will do:

1. Check Mail – This button will download any new messages received. This happens automatically each time you log in, click on the inbox link or explicitly click on this button.

2. Reply – This is the reply button. It will automatically set up the composition page with the information necessary to reply to the sender of the selected message.
